Dr. Mounir Khani is a leading psychiatrist in Lebanon and the Middle East who dedicated his career to helping his patients and fighting the region's stigma against mental health. He was the Founding Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, where he resided for 30 years. During his time, the department grew from two offices with two psychiatrists to a full-fledged department with teams of psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health specialists as well as an inpatient unit of 10 rooms, not to mention the psychiatric residency program he developed.
Dr. Mounir Khani's top areas of care are anxiety, emotional disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, paranoia, dementia, and schizophrenia.

Dr. Bazzi obtained her Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut in 2014, then she pursued her medical specialization at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), where she completed her Residency in General Psychiatry in 2018 and her Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2020. During her training, she was part of many educational activities and took part in several research projects. Dr. Bazzi also participated in community reach activities and provided parenting guidance to many mothers of young children. Right after her graduation, Dr. Bazzi was appointed as a Clinical Associate at AUBMC.
Since her graduation, Dr. Bazzi has been practicing Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry in Beirut, working with patients of all age groups. During her years of experience in effectively treating patients with various psychiatric disorders, she coordinated with other healthcare professionals, Clinical Psychologists, and other therapeutic practitioners to establish a holistic plan of care to improve outcomes. When it comes to the management of children, Dr. Bazzi believes in a family-based approach, where parents are very important partners in the treatment plan.
Dr. Bazzi’s areas of interest include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and various childhood psychiatric disorders. Dr. Bazzi also has interest and expertise in managing early childhood behavioral difficulties and parenting preschoolers and young children.
Dr. Bazzi is committed to raising awareness about mental health across the lifespan. She hopes to use her knowledge and skills to further improve patient outcomes, and hopefully eliminate stigma surrounding mental health, especially relating to children and youth. Dr. Bazzi hopes that her career in mental health will help improve the future of people with psychiatric disorders and the Lebanese community at large.
In September 2022, Dr. Bazzi joined KPC as a Psychiatrist. At KPC, Dr. Bazzi provides psychiatric consultations to children, adolescents, and adults.
C. Jung
Christine is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in CBT and DBT. She speaks four languages– Arabic, Armenian, English, and French and possesses a unique educational background of an MA in Clinical Psychology and a BS in Nursing. Christine has over 10 years of experience in the mental health sector where she has worked with adolescents and adults suffering from different mental health problems of various severity.
She has worked for several years at the Department of Psychiatry at AUBMC as an outpatient psychiatric nurse, which inspired her to continue her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Christine also assisted Embrace in outreach and awareness activities for several years, was a board member of the NGO, and eventually took the role of the National Lifeline Supervisor in 2020.
Christine is passionately active in spreading awareness about mental health and fighting the stigma around it. She is a strong believer that there is no health without mental health and that one can achieve their utmost self by first being aware, and then seeking the assistance they might need to do so.
In 2022, Christine joined the Khani Psych Clinics, where she is running her practice as a clinical psychologist. Relying on her background experience, Christine uses a holistic approach in her practice, but above all, fervently believes in the importance of therapeutic rapport. She is driven by, and aims, every day, to follow Jung’s: “Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul.”
Maher Khani
Maher Khani is foremost a catalyst that invokes transformations in individuals of all ages on their journey toward awesomeness. He is a Certified Professional Coactive Coach (CPCC) and an empowerment coach who earned his certification from the Coaches Training Institute (CTi) in Dubai. His motto and life purpose is, “Be Awesome. Do Awesome,” and he persistently strives for and challenges others to be and do awesome.
Maher is also a graduate of the American University of Beirut, where he resided as a coaching consultant as part of their wellness center later in his career. He has a distinctive background both professionally and sociologically, having worked nine years in New York City on Wall Street and 13 plus years in the Middle East (Dubai, Kuwait, Beirut), providing for a unique blend of western and eastern knowledge and understanding.
Striving to coax the best out of people, he is highly motivated and committed to making it his life’s work to spark and facilitate constructive transformation while placing an emphasis on connection and connectivity. He is known for his passionate and engaging style, and powerful empathy, while possessing the leadership skills and practical experience to inspire and motivate; a unique understanding of corporate clients and their needs.
